Case Study

CYCLE is a mobile application that transform the way people shop for vintage clothing. By combining a curated selection of high-quality vintage garments with a user-friendly interface, CYCLE has quickly gained popularity among fashion enthusiasts seeking unique and timeless fashion pieces.

This case study explores the key factors contributing to CYCLE success and its impact on the vintage fashion market.

Challenge

The vintage clothing market was fragmented, with limited online platforms catering specifically to vintage fashion. Consumers faced challenges such as limited availability and difficulties in finding desired styles and sizes.

The challenge for CYCLE was to create a streamlined platform that addressed these pain points and provided a seamless vintage shopping experience.

Problems to solve
  1. Provide the user with input fields for personal data to create the profile.
  2. Enable the user to input details about the items they want to sell.
  3. Implement the social pattern, allowing users to leave reviews on other sellers profiles.
  4. Users need a searching section to find what interests them.
  5. The user requires an organized and clear home screen to view the offered items.
  6. The user needs to be notified when others like, comment, share, or interact with their published content.
Solutions
  1. The user needs to input the data in the app to create the profile. A requirement for this is an input pattern that solves the problem of profile creation.
  2. The user needs to upload what they want to sell, and to fix this, the feedback pattern will be used. With this, the user will know when the product is uploaded, confirmed on the screen.
  3. The problem of leaving a review will be fixed by using the “Social Pattern,” which includes a section on the profile in the app that will be easily recognizable and allow users to leave a review for the seller.
  4. The solution for the Search section will be addressed by using the “Navigation Pattern,” adding a search button that allows the user to access specific items they are looking for easily.
  5. To address the Home Screen problem, the Data Management pattern will be used. This will allow for an organized home screen, avoiding messiness and giving users a pleasant feeling while navigating.
  6. The Notification section will be solved using the social pattern, adding a button to the app that will give users access to view their notifications.

Results:
  • Increased Market Reach: CYCLE successfully tapped into a niche market, attracting vintage fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
  • Enhanced User Experience: The user-friendly interface, advanced search capabilities, and size assistance tools significantly improved the shopping experience for CYCLE customers.
The app's seamless navigation and curated selection of garments garnered high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Sustainable Fashion Movement: By promoting the use of pre-loved clothing, CYCLE contributed to the growing sustainable fashion movement.
The app empowered users to shop consciously, reducing their environmental impact by giving vintage garments a new life.
